Connor Warren Smith is an internationally-recognized composer, arranger, performer, and studio vocalist active in the greater Los Angeles area. Connor’s choral arrangements, both published and commissioned, are performed worldwide by groups of all sizes and skill-levels. Notably, his a cappella arrangements of “Be Thou My Vision” and “The Star Spangled Banner” were named “Editor’s Choice” in J.W. Pepper’s 2018 and 2019 catalogs. Additionally, Connor’s writing expands into the realm of children’s music, where he has received 13 Teachers’ Choice, Parents’ Choice, and Academics’ Choice Awards for his work with the children’s music company HeidiSongs. Connor served as the Graduate Composer in Residence at California Baptist University from 2015-2017, where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Composition and a Master’s Degree in Conducting, studying with Dr. Glenn Pickett, Dr. Gary Bonner, and Dr. Judd Bonner. Today, he enjoys writing commissioned works for local and national choirs and groups, as well as working with choral publishers across the country.

Aside from his work as a composer, Connor is probably most known first and foremost as a vocalist. A regular performer at the Disneyland Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood, Connor has performed on stages both large and small across the globe. As an in-demand Los Angeles session singer, Connor’s voice has appeared in major motion pictures, television shows, albums, Disney Recordings®, and more. In early 2018, Connor was selected to be a member of the original cast of Disney’s DCappella, earning him a spot on the group’s debut album released via Walt Disney Records. Personal note from Connor:

“As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I could not be prouder or more ecstatic to be writing this work for The Quire. Growing up in an environment that was not always LGBTQ-friendly or embracing of queer people, music has always been not an outlet of self-expression for me, but it has been a place of refuge and security in hard times. I am truly honored to be working with The Quire to create a work that reflects all of our experiences in the LGBTQ community.”
